Your tile bed (drainfield) is an important component of your septic system. As your sewage enters the septic tank the sewage level rises causing clear liquid (effluent) to flow into your tile bed. In the tile bed, the soil introduces oxygen to the wastewater and removes bacteria, viruses and nutrients.
