Regular maintenance gives you the best information on how your septic system is working by protecting your tile or filter bed from solids. But why is this important? Save Money
Failing septic tanks can become costly to repair or replace and often poor maintenance is the reason. Ensuring your septic tank is inspected every 3 years ends up being a bargain in comparison to purchasing a new system. Your septic tank will need to be pumped every 3 to 5 years, please check out Frequency of Pumping: 4 Major Factors for determining when your septic tank needs to be pumped. An unusable septic tank or one that is in need of major repair will lower your property value. Protect the Environment A very important reason to safely treat sewage waste is to protect our water systems and reduce the spread of disease. Household pollutants in wastewater typically contain the following: phosphorous, nitrogen, and illness causing diseases and viruses. When a septic system is working correctly, these pollutants are removed. Improperly treated sewage can be the cause of groundwater contamination making both people and animals sick. Be a responsible homeowner and make sure your septic system is working properly.

I really like how you said that having your septic tank inspected every three years will save you more money than installing an all-new system. My father has been renovating his house so that he can raise its value and sell it for a profit. He has a septic system in his house, so it might be a good idea for him to have a professional make sure that it is in proper working order.

It's good to know that you should have your septic system inspected at least once every 3 years to prevent any catastrophic damage. My brother has been telling me about how there's a brown puddle in his lawn even though it hasn't been raining. I'm pretty sure that's from his septic system, so I'll pass this information along to him so that he can get the professional help that he needs for this problem.

It totally makes sense when you mentioned that you should pump out your septic tank now and then so that you can avoid expensive repairs! I had no idea that wastewater contains a lot of pollutants! I should share this with my friend who's interested in purchasing a home next year. This way, he knows how to take care of a septic tank when needed.

I have been looking at getting a septic tank for the past couple of weeks now. You answered my main concern when you said that they need to be pumped every 3 to 5 years. I can work around that time frame pretty easily so I'll probably get one.

I'm glad you talked about how important it is to maintain your septic tank to avoid costly repairs in the future. My wife and I just moved into another house, and we're not sure when was the last time its septic tank got cleaned. We noticed a disgusting smell, and we're worried about the state of the tank. We think the best thing to do will be to contact a professional to check it out as soon as possible. I appreciate you helping me learn more about how to care for your home's septic tank.
